Reclaimed fabric from orange red antique shusu silk obi
A beautiful antique burnt orange red shusu satin silk obi was picked apart and this is the front panel for that obi.
Shusu silk is a lush satin weave fabric with a really touchable texture. Shusu is a satin with a feel almost like a very fine nap, the closest think i can think of to describe it is it is like a fine pelt of super short hairs, utterly lovely to the touch.
This piece measures 300 cm long by 33 cm wide and is in antique used excellent condition. This is a short obi and would have been for a teen or an older child.
This fabric would be great for pillows, purses, bags or other projects which call for a fabric that is both tough enough to handle being handled plus incredible beauty and softness.
